A SPECIAL TOUCH FOR HORSES
Touching your horse can have a powerful effect on their well being and
overall health.
You can see it when a loving caring person purchases a horse that
obviously has many problems due to neglect, abuse, overuse, past
diseases, or the aging years. Many of these problems were unable to
respond to conventional veterinary medicine. Many such horses may have
been given up on by their owners as a result. They are often sent to
auctions and killer sales markets. The lucky ones find homes with caring
individuals.
Observe horses at the sales standing in the stalls or pens with a
fearful despondent look worrying about their fate.
When a caring individual comes along showing them human kindness with
soft pats and friendly energy the horse will often show dramatic
changes. You can see their smile as their eyes light up as they are
soothed by the caring supportive light pats and soft gentle strokes.
Observe closely, you may notice after being touched and patted their
posture and limb placement shows improvement.
Sore tense horses may be seen dropping their head and neck showing
their submissiveness to the effects and power of a caretaker's touch.
What actually happens while touching a horse using a certain
technique can be rather fascinating. Certain types of touching, stroking
and patting moves the horse's Ki energy. When the touches,
strokes and pats are done on certain areas of the horse's body, you can
influence the movement of their Ki energy. You can actually
reestablish a disrupted flow of Ki energy along a problem area
and improve their soundness and movement.
What is Ki energy? Ki energy is the life maintaining energy
force that flows on pathways called meridians. It controls cellular
activity. Among many other functions, it nourishes the horse's muscular
and skeletal structure.
******* A proper flow of Ki energy is necesary for
general health, soundness and behavior. *******
Reestablishing a proper flow of Ki energy is a significant factor
when attempting to bring about an improvement on a horse that has
problems.

Ki energy and the reestablishment of its proper flow treats mind,
body and soul.
A positive caring and good intentioned attitude when dealing with
horses in need can have a tremendous positive effect. A good intentional
well meaning attitude when approaching or dealing with any horse is a
definite plus. A good intentional, caring, calm, positive and quiet
attitude brings a positive powerful energy force from within the person.
This human energy actually meets the horse's energy as the caregiver
approaches the horse before any touching takes place. The rhythmic flow
of this energy can mingle together between human and horse from an arms
length distance or so. (Think of the first time a child is introduced to
a friendly dependable horse. As the friendly horse approaches the
curious child or vice versa, you can see the child's expression of
elation, smiles, giggles along with refreshing energizing look to them.)
When touched by a person, the human energy interacts and influences the
horse's Ki energy to move. It is this human influence of energy that
encourages movement of the horse's energy. A reestablished flow of Ki
energy is often need to bring improvement in the horse's problem areas.
A simple human touch can have a very impressive effect on the horse.
It can be described as shiatsu. Shiatsu is just one of many
techniques used to influence the movement of Ki energy.
Many people have performed shiatsu on their horses without realizing
it. Have you?
